Karamea Arabians started with the purchase of the filly Araleigh Judith (Claudius + AU x Habiba). Judith had four daughters which were all used in the stud. Karamea Zahra and Karamea Gazelle were both by Impala + AU. Karamea Farah was by Gai Aristocrat + USA, and Karamea Tara was by Arabian Park Bandero + AU. Zahra and Tara had several foals before being sold on as was Judith. Gazelle remained all her life in the stud but because of the stud's policy of keeping numbers down, she along with Tara and Zahra had no remaining descendents left in the stud. However, they all contributed to the stud in their own way and Gazelle was an outstanding broodmare in her own right. Her most notable progeny are Karamea Zella (Araleigh Kavanna), a multi Supreme Halter Champion.
Zella's full brother, Karamea Magic, was a halter and performance champion. He won the 1992 BP Circuit Dressage Award and became the first purebred Arabian to be awarded the Roll of Merit in Dressage.
Karamea Kazahni, already mentioned previously, was another of her high achieving sons. As well she is granddam to Karamea Bay Shadow (x Karamea Mira), again mentioned previously. Before embarking on his endurance career, Bay Shadow also had a very distinguished career in halter classes. He was twice NZ North Island Champion as well as NZ National Reserve Champion. Karamea Zahra's most notable offspring was Karamea Kismet (Araleigh Kavanna).
Kismet won the 160k ride at the 1999 NZ North Island Endurance Championships. Karamea Tara was represented in the stud for a short while by her daughter Karamea Sarita (Gai Cadet). Sarita only had two sons, full brothers by Araleigh Kavanna. Karamea Savannah, was very versatile under saddle winning Champion Showhunter at the Northland Showhunter Championship, as well he qualified for Novice at the 1998 NZ Dressage Championships. Karamea Mirage was Champion Gelding at Halter, the only time he was shown in halter classes. He is now a qualified endurance gelding.
Apart from Karamea Amahlia, all females in the stud descend from Araleigh Judith through her daughter Karamea Farah. The doubling of Gainey bloodlines, using Farah with Gai Cadet and his son El Kheir Galal proved a winning combination. Three of Farah's daughters remain in the stud, Evita (Gai Cadet), and the full sisters Falahna and Kalilah (El Kheir Galal). Four of Farah's grand daughters, Esmerelda, Leilahna, Bay Diva, Estella and Ballerina, all by Kaptivation, have also been retained. As well as two great grand daughters, Samara and Mahala.
The aforementioned mare, Karamea Amahlia, is also by El Kheir Galal. Her dam, Araleigh Kristo, was by Arabian Park Bandero + AU. All of Amahlia's progeny have been sons.
