EL KHEIR GALAL  bay 1984
by Gai Cadet + USA (Gai Parada x Fiera)
x Waimeha Juana (Dynamit HOL. x Waimeha Muna)

Both Galal's sire and dam had stellar careers in halter classes.  His sire, Gai Cadet, was by USA National Champion Stallion, Gai Parada.  His dam, Waimeha Juana, was by the Dutch imported stallion, Dynamit. Gai Cadet was a multi Supreme Champion and included New Zealand National Champion Stallion amongst his many awards.  Waimeha Juana, was also a multi Supreme Champion, and a New Zealand National Supreme Champion before that award was discarded.  Both Cadet and Juana came from strong and successful halter and performance families.

Galal was also very successful at halter as was his only full sister, White Pine Nefissa.  He was an outstanding sire for the stud, and proved to be an excellent cross with our first generation mares.  Three of his daughters were used extensively in the stud.  Two of these, the full sisters Karamea Falahna & Karamea Kalilah, were both National Top 5 Mares.  Galal was the sire of many champions in both halter and performance.  Only 3 of his sons have competed at endurance.  They all had distinguished careers. Karamea Kazahni, won back to back open 160k rides at the 2002 and 2003 NZ National Endurance Championships, as well he was runner up at the 2004 NZ National Endurance Championships over the same distance.  Also in 2003, Karamea Bay Shadow won the Junior 100k ride at both the NZ North Island and the NZ National Endurance Championships.  In 2007, he was awarded another NZ National Championship in Endurance.  Another son, Windvale Musician, won the Masters 160k ride at Taupo several years ago.  Galal's only partbred son, Eastern Sun, a striking dun park hack gelding, is a ridden Champion in open classes.
